I think that if Sony tries to compete with Nintendo on a feature for feature basis, they will lose.
They should focus on bringing that much rumored PSP phone. Everybody needs a cell phone these days and the more functionality you can add to that phone, the better. Imagine a PSP2 with 4G capabilities and backwards compatibility with PSP games on the PSN store. God of War, MGS, Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, GTA, all available from day one. THE iPhone killer.
Having a "Deadly Premonition" moment, are we?
Yes, the nitpicking will be strong with this one. And it's just disgusting when you think of the obvious flaws present in that definitive GT-wannabe that were conveniently ignored by reviewers. I call it the "free Xbox effect".
Well they had to leave something out to include as a key feature for GT6. :D
I'm glad to see you can enter virtual track days or you can just be a spectator. That's great when you just want to show off your skills instead of competing for first place.
They weren't.
Or maybe they were thinking that you can't have an RROD without the red ring.
Take your pick.
Oh come on, you have to admit that Ferrari in their presentation looked gorgeous. You know... The one that was just standing there, with no motion, with no physics or AI calculations going on, just sitting in a 2D background...
... hhhhmmmmm... Never mind.
YouTube uploading is an epic win!
Every single muscle in my face hurts from laughing so hard!!! And don't even get me started on the Catholic Church jokes. The posibilities are endless!
No disrespect darkride, but a guy who yearns for beer and porn probably shouldn't have kids in the first place. I mean he might not be the most responsible parent in the world.
EDIT- BTW I'm not the one who disagreed.
This is pure gold! When the guy at the MS press conference said that you no longer needed a remote to control your movie playback and that you didn't have to remember which button did what anymore, he should have added "you just need to stand up".
Seriously now, wasn't Natal demoed with Burnout Paradise soon after being announced? I believe the guy controlling the game was sitting down. I think this one is fake. It is coming from IGN.
I absolutely agree. RE5 is actually the only game among my PS3 library that I bought before official street date. I even bought that ridiculous Versus DLC (paid $2 for the thing and regret it ever since). And how did Capcom reward me? By turning their backs on me.
Seeing how they handled RE5 and SF4 is the reason why will not buy any full priced game from Capcom in the foreseeable future.
I love the new "open zone"-less N4G. It's so bad.
Even worse. 360 fanboys touting Nintendo hardware on PS3 threads. I never thought I'd see this pathetic day.
Shadow Flare is correct. The Sixaxis/Dual Shock controller uses Bluetooth to communicate with the system. Before you can transfer data between 2 Bluetooth devices you have to sync them together. The way you do that on the PS3 is by connecting the controller via USB and pressing the PS button. Then the controller will work exclusively with that particular system until you sync it with another system, at which point it will no longer work with the previous PS3.
So if you have 2...
Thank you Sony, for reminding me why I bought 2 PS3s.
I know. My first reaction was "WTF! This is the kind of stunt MS usually pulls". I seriously thought we would see David Jaffe at Microsoft's conference long before Gabe Newel would even touch a PS3.
Somehow, amazing doesn't quite cut it.
It's breathtaking gorgeous! Oh how I love GT.
That's nor really a problem if the controller is actually cheap. I've been using a Logitech controller since I broke my original sixaxis playing COD4 2 years ago. I don't get rumble, but the controller was very cheap and it's slightly bigger than the DS3 making it more confortable for me. I only use the DS3 for games that don't require the L3 and R3 buttons (which pretty much excludes FPS games).
The left stick on my Logitech is starting to get messed up...
I guess the guys at MS thought to themselves: "Ok... We don't have much in the conference for our traditional users and previously acquired fanbase. What should we do? I know! We'll get Kojima on stage and at the end of the show we'll give away free 360 slims to every member of the press. That will get the media talking about how we stole the show from Sony for the upcoming weeks."
Really, you've been a gamer for 5 (FIVE!) years? How can I argue against such an experienced industry veteran?/s
I absolutely knew it was only a matter of time before an article like this showed up, the minute MS bri... eeerrr... I mean gave away free 360 consoles at their conference.
